I am proud to have completed work that was begun by Mayor Lewallen during his tenure as mayor. A huge partnership between First Energy, Monroe County Commission, FEMA, and the Town of Alderson made it possible. The coming together of all parties involved to make this flood control possible was what needed to happen. The benefit for everyone involved has needed to happen for over 40 years. Thank you to all the landowners who gave permission for the good of everyone. Our team is continuing to work on the cleaning and clearing of Harwood Creek to make it even better. We are making a difference for all the homes that flood on the Monroe Side of town. This flooding happened at rainfall amounts like we have had over the past weeks. Localized, and caused major problems from the water freezing in the road to flooding homes. We still have a lot of work to do. Major work beyond where we have completed to fix the backup from the river when the river is high. But we are determined to complete the whole task. Huge shout out to Scott Gibson and his crew from Wiseman Excavating, Inc. for making this work!
