Jeffery
Allen
Ambler,
69,
of
Alderson,
passed
away
suddenly
at
home
on
June
12,
2025.
He
was
born
October
15,
1955,
in
Union
to
the
late
George
P.
Ambler
and
Norma Trout McFarland.
Jeff
graduated
from
William
Fleming
High
School
in
1974.
After
school,
he
joined
the
Army
and
served
in
the
82nd
Airborne
as
a
paratrooper.
He
also
won
the
82nd
Airborne Boxing Championship at Fort Bragg.
He
became
a
skilled
equipment
operator
and
worked
in
many
areas
and
states.
Jeff
constructed
many
homes
in
the
area,
including
seven
of
his
own.
He
enjoyed
metal
forging
and
woodworking
and
made
many
beautiful
items
that
he
gave
to
family and friends.
Jeff
lived
his
life
with
passion
and
had
many
friends
and
“frenemies.”
He
always
spoke
his
mind
whether
right,
wrong,
or
indifferent.
Jeff
had
a
competitive
spirit
and
love
for
Alderson
his
entire
life.
He
was
known
for his annual Fourth of July wildfire spirit during the field and river events.
Many
don’t
know
the
support
Jeff
gave
to
Alderson.
Jeff
helped
pave
many
streets,
built
picnic
tables,
painted
curbs,
coached
kids,
sponsored
teams,
mowed
grass,
helped
run
wiring
for
the
Alumni
Park,
and
a
host of other projects. Jeff didn’t just come with his ideas; he came to help carry them out.
Those
who
know
the
real
Jeff
know
that
he
was
there
for
the
underdog.
He
fought
for
the
small
businessperson
and
those
who
sometimes
were
overlooked.
His
heart
was
as
big
as
his
mouth
and
his
love
for
his
family
was
unwavering.
Jeff
stood
behind
his
family
always.
He
also
had
a
huge
heart
for
animals
and adopted many over the years.
