AMS Minutes May 2023 Sheena Pendley 5/18/23 ***Lemonade Volunteers Needed*** Need one more for 12-2pm. Need two 2-4pm Call to Order Pledge of Allegiance Previous minutes Moved for approval by Margaret and approved Budget report by Margaret $$ is coming in for Strawberry fest $1750 by end of April, still more coming in now (yay!) 4th of July ad was purchased Flowers are up on posts (thanks Don) 28k+ left in bank, restricted. 15k+ in regular budget unrestricted Flower Baskets - Thanks to Travis and Brenda for suggesting donations for baskets and watering in memory of Ross. There may be a carry over balance for flowers next year. Motion to approve - Doris Kasley 2nded by - Anne Eskins Depot Visitors #s 2 in May Open mic, 45 people 18 musicians 13th had 10 visitors Old Business Flower baskets - up and looking great Christmas Tea Recipe Book -- no progress 9 of 16 lamp posts have been adopted Planning Calendar is current Depot replenishment - Tshirts, hats, etc to sell, everything $20 Information Kiosks - river plan: Strawberry fest - Sheena provided update Strawberry Lemonade - 20 gallons, 320 tablespoons of strawberries, 5 gallons of strawberries to be safe, Snooky 9am-12pm and one other. Sheena/Jake fill in or runner duty. 12-2pm Anne Eskins, Need one more for 12-2pm. Need two 2-4pm AMS Member Social - May 20 5-6:30pm - 22 signed up now, old bank building AMS Canopies - needs painted (Marcia did one) Love in a Loaf Pan - in Tamarack Artisan Gallery plans - will likely move in September. Too much going on during the summer and short staffed. New Business Mon May 22 FREE includes lunch. 9:30am-3pm, tours start at 3pm, Stakeholder Meeting, Appalachian forest heritage, promote growth in the economy. Centered in Elkins. Events at the blue, carriages 11am and 2pm portrayal of Major Vass of hotel manager. Native American exhibit at Arbuckle Fort. Tours there too. Music at the Clay House by Don and Marcia Sutherland Includes 60 page book of tour and details. 5 Stops, 7 view Spots Tour begins at whichever location you would like. Tickets available on line. Kids activity sheet Best to begin on Hamilton Ridge Book will be available afterward at the Historical Society and CVB Next Meeting is June 15th at 7pm at Depot
