National Ice Cream Day Celebration William Ward - July 15, 2018
We   all   scream   for   ice   cream!     All   of   us   have   heard   that   old   saying   many   times   but   today   we   got   a   helping   of the   Dippin’   Dots   ice   cream   brand   at   the   Visitor’s   Center   in   Alderson,   WV.      In   honor   of   National   Ice   Cream Day   and   thanks   to   Rick   and   Donna   Simms   who   are   the   local   distributors   of   the   Dippin’   Dot   brand   and   the Dippin’   Dot   Company   who   are   celebrating   their   30th   anniversary   the   first   200   people   that   came   were   given a   free   helping   of   their   ice   cream.      I   had   not   had   the   Dippin’   Dots   brand   before   but   I   must   admit   it   was   very tasty. In   addition   to   the   ice   cream   there   was   also   entertainment   provided   by   New   Horizon   Gospel   Music   Group.     Their   pickin’   and   singin’   was   superb.      They   specialize   in   Bluegrass   type   gospel   music   and   they   do   a wonderful job. There   was   quite   a   good   turnout   for   a   small   town   like Alderson   and   everyone   seemed   to   be   enjoying   the   ice cream and the show.  There always seems to be something going on in Alderson……a great place to live.
