“Small Town Living” Need   an   example   of   why   living   in   a   small   town/area   is   so   great?   Just   think   about   what   happened   this Sunday   morning.   Sandy,   who   regularly   picks   up   Food   Pantry   donations   at   Kroger   on   Sunday   mornings and   brings   them   to   the Alderson   Presbyterian   Church   for   the   local   food   pantry,   was   involved   in   an   accident at   the   intersection   at   Greenbrier   Valley   Hospital.   Neither   she   nor   the   man   who   pulled   in   front   of   her   were injured but her car was totaled. There   were   a   lot   of   people   about   because   this   is   the   entry   way   for   emergency   services.   While   waiting   for law   enforcement,   she   mentioned   that   she   had   food   pantry   items   in   her   car   that   needed   to   go   to Alderson. Jesse   Willis   and   Hannah   Christ   of   the   Alderson   EMS   happened   to   be   there   and   volunteered   to   take   the food to the Church. Another ambulance driver, after learning where Sandy lives, offered to take her home. Meanwhile,   at   church   services,   Rev.   Lanny   Howe   and   the   congregation   were   getting   worried   about   Sandy. Lanny   thought   he   might   have   seen   her   car   involved   in   an   accident   but   couldn't   get   through   the   traffic   to check   so   they   were   all   extra   worried   and   called   her.   Sandy   called   back   to   say   she   was   home,   ok,   and   that the   food   was   on   its   way   in   the   Alderson   EMS   ambulance.   Jesse   and   Hannah   called   Pat   Nash   because they   know   he   goes   to   the   Presbyterian   Church.   He   called   the   church   to   say   the   food   would   be   there   any minute   and   it   was!   So,   church   members   got   up   from   their   seats   and   went   outside   to   help   carry   in   the   food before   resuming   the   service.   It   is   now   about   4:00   p.m.   and   Sandy   has   had   2   adult   visitors   and   1   child visitor and a whole bunch of phone calls to make sure she is ok and find out if she needs anything.
