New Handicap Accessibility For Amtrak Customers Work   has   begun   on   the   handicap   accessibility   for   Amtrak   customers.   C   and   O   plaza   drive   is   closed   until further notice. This is an upgrade that we have been working with Amtrak officials for for quite a while. This   will   provide   for   a   wheelchair   lift   and   ADA   parking   for   customers.   It   will   also   resurface   the   platform   at the station that is in much need of repair. We   are   fortunate   to   have   been   chosen   for   this   major   upgrade   to   our   station.   The   work   on   the   project between   the   town   and Amtrak   began   in   early   2018.   These   kinds   of   high   dollar   projects   take   several   years to become reality. Once   completed,   it   will   improve   our   depot,   the   area   around   it,   and   the   access   for   disabled   customers.   As you can see, our FY 2019 ridership numbers have shown an increase.
