NEW EQUIPMENT IN ALDERSON The   Town   of   Alderson   has   acquired   a   new   piece   of   equipment   which   will   make   the   work   of   the   Town maintenance   crew   safer   and   easier.      The   new   service   truck   was   necessary   because   of   the   Sewer   Plant upgrades   which   included   new   pumps   at   the   lift   stations.     These   pumps   must   be   “pulled”   to   be   serviced   and the   crane   on   the   old   truck   was   not   strong   enough   for   the   job. The   larger   crane   is   able   to   do   double-duty   as a people lift to safely raise workers to high places. This   purchase   has   been   in   the   works   for   more   than   a   year   and   included   applying   for   grants   from   the USDA   and   the   WV   Legislature.   The   rest   of   the   funding   will   come   from   the   sale   of   the   old   truck   and   the Sewer Utility, Water Utility, and the general fund. The   newly   re-elected   Mayor   and   Council   of   the   Town   of Alderson   are   happy   that   several   revenue   streams came   together   for   this   purchase.      Mayor   Travis   Copenhaver   said,   “This   service   truck   was   specifically designed   to   make   work   safer   and   more   efficient.   I   appreciate   Rick   Burns   and   Eric   Duff   who   worked carefully to insure it would meet our needs.” PHOTO    CAPTION:    Standing    in    front    of    the    new    service    truck    are    newly    re-elected    Mayor    Travis Copenhaver;   Recorder   Betty   Thomas;   and   Council   Members   Tod   Hanger,   Ann   Eskins,   Becky   Keadle, Doris Kasley, and Charley Lobban.   (Click on photo for larger view)
