Update on the Visitors Center Hello   all,   The   Visitors   Center   was   built   to   be   flooded   and   cleaned   up.   It   worked   pretty   well.   No   systems   got   wet   or were   damaged.   Because,   like   so   many   others,   we   believed   the   NOAA   prediction   of   a   crest   at   15.9   feet,   we   did   not get   down   there   in   time   to   move   much   of   the   contents.   So   we   lost   some   of   the   "stuff'   inside,   but,   thankfully,   there was not much of that. The   doors   suffered   some   damage   from   the   water   and   swelling   and   are   likely   to   be   replaced   by   our   flood insurance   which   is   carried   by   the   Town.   We   met   with   the   adjuster   yesterday   and   he   has   all   the   photos   and paperwork he needs right now. The   Visitors   Center   is   OPEN   on   its   regular   schedule!   The   Community   Market   was   held   yesterday.   Lynda   is helping out in other areas during her non-work days. All   in   all,   Alderson   was   blessed   and   is   recovering.   We   have   more   than   enough   cleaning   supplies   and   other recovery   supplies.   If   you   want   to   help,   please   donate   money   to   the   Town   (They   pay   our   insurance   and   the premium   may   go   up),   the AVFD,   or   the   Community   Center.   I   am   so   proud   of   all   the   volunteers   I   have   worked   with over the past few days.
