Oma Jean Thompson - Obituary November 26, 1942 - March 7, 2024
Oma Jean Thompson, age 81 of Bluefield, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2024. She was on born November 26, 1942, in Alderson, WV, a daughter of the late Overton Otto and Melva Blanche Hughes Thompson. After graduating from Talcott High School in 1962. She went on to work at Deskins Grocery store before starting her own cleaning business until she retired at the age of 79. Jean always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite things included fishing and watching sports, especially football and basketball in her spare time. She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, wonderful personality, and her love for her two fur babies, Cody and Kasey. She is survived by her sister, Carol Rudisill and her husband David, of Barger Springs, her brothers, Ronald Thompson of Alderson, Benny Thompson and his wife Janice of Griffith Creek, Gary Thompson and his wife Ruth of Lewisburg, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her siblings, Bill Thompson, Margaret Ann Angell, Charles Thompson, Dave Thompson, Fred Thompson, Bob Thompson, and Kenneth Thompson. Graveside services and burial will be on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Alderson Cemetery in Alderson, W.V., with Pastor Derek Hall officiating.
