Harold Eugene Knapp, Sr. - Obituary August 2, 1920 - October 6, 2003
Knapp, Harold Eugene, Sr., age 83, of Birmingham died October 6, 2003. He was a World War II veteran serving in the European Theatre. He was a graduate of Alderson High School, Class of 1939. He graduated from West Virginia University in 1951 and worked for Westinghouse for 35 years as an Inside Sales Representative handling heavy industrial equipment sales. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since the early 1950’s, serving on the Administrative Board. He was the Boy Scoutmaster of Troop 97 from 1960-1963. Survivors include his wife almost 56 years, Josephine Sapp Knapp of Birmingham; son, Harold Eugene Knapp, Jr. (Vicky) of Birmingham; daughter, Karen Marie Knapp Mobley of Birmingham; granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Mobley Ebelhar (Jared) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; granddaughter, Caroline Anne Mobley of Birmingham; brother, Grayson Knapp (Vella) of Alderson, West Virginia; sister, Anna Chesher of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Charles Knapp (Sonia) of Roanoke, Virginia; and Mary Dodd of Alderson, Virginia. A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood with Dr. Andrew Wolfe officiating.
