Hi   everyone!   Stacy   Eskins   here   asking   for   your   help   with   a project in my hometown, Alderson, WV! I'm   excited   to   announce   that   an Alderson   Town   Clock   Project has   officially   been   given   the   go   ahead,   and   therefore   the fundraising as well! It   was   over   two   years   ago   when   the   thought   for   a   Town   Clock crossed   my   mind.   Then   after   some   research   on   styles   and vendors,   I   presented   the   idea   to   Alderson   Main   Street   where it was well received. Naturally,   a   town   clock   would   be   a   useful   reference   for   town citizens,   but   more   importantly   it   would   enhance   the   central hub    of    activity    providing    the    town    with    another    “meeting place”   landmark…just   as   another   former   clock   did   over   50 years    ago    when    one    hung    above    the    entrance    to    C.D. Hanger’s   Jewelry   Store,   the   building   that   stood   on   the   very location where we propose to install this new clock.

Post   Clocks   are   timeless   (no   pun   intended).   They   first   appeared   in   the   US   about   1870.   Today,   the   street clock   stands   as   an   American   tradition.   It's   a   symbol   of   pride   in   workmanship,   stability,   and   sense   of community. The street clock is both a reminder of our past and will be a legacy for the future. Now,    that    the    clock    project    is    full    steam    ahead...Main    Street    and    myself    would    appreciate    any contribution you'd be willing to make. Whether   you   donate   $5   or   $500...   Every   little   bit   makes   an   impact   and   helps   offset   the   costs   for   this community project, which is to include: - Post Clock - Installation - Electrical - Raised Foundation - Landscaping Facebook pays all the processing fees for you, so 100% of your donation goes directly to the nonprofit.
