ALDERSON MAIN STREET ICE CREAM SOCIAL
Alderson Main Street is sponsoring an Ice Cream
Social on Saturday, July 2 at the Tom Housby Memorial Gazebo in
Alumni Park from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. as a part of Alderson’s
July 4th Celebration.
Come by for a free ice cream cone and a visit with friends and
neighbors. The Alderson Lion is also scheduled to make an
appearance. This event is being coordinated by Sandy “Snookie”
Elam and Fawn Valentine, Main Street members.
The latest group of memorial bricks has been placed in the walk
and is available for viewing. Scheduled to occur just before the
Alumni Banquet at the Alderson Community Center for the Arts and
Humanities, this is a great opportunity for former Aldersonians
(who are always Aldersonians at heart) to greet old friends,
reminisce about the good old days, and enjoy the current
atmosphere.
Alderson Main Street continues to promote projects which enhance
the beauty and viability of the town. Visitors will note the new
slate roof on the center section of the 1896 Historic C&O Depot.
President Barbara Taylor said, “New members and donations are
always welcome.”
