YOUNG VENDORS AT ALDERSON COMMUNITY MARKET
Margaret Hambrick
Two enterprising young vendors set up their lemonade stand at the
Alderson Community Market on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Brady Carpenter,
age 6, and his brother, Cody, age 4, were earning money for a trip to the
State Fair and a water park this summer.
Under the watchful eye of their mother, Kelly Keadle Carpenter, newly
elected council member for the Town of Alderson, they were selling
lemonade and snacks. Kelly said, “They will also be giving a portion of their
earnings to the church or to other kids who need help.”
Their striking lemonade stand was crafted by their father, Kevin Carpenter,
from scraps left over from home improvement projects. Brady was excited
to say, “We will also be selling lemonade during the 4th of July!”
There are always great surprises at the Alderson Community Market held each Saturday from 8:30 to 1:00 p.m.
