After a gap of two years, Alderson Main Street is again hosting
a Christmas Homes Tour on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from 1 to 5
p.m. This wonderful way to begin the Christmas season was sorely
missed by many in the Greenbrier Valley.
This year the tour will feature four houses, music at the
Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, and a model train
show. Local businesses will be open for your shopping pleasure.
The houses include a Victorian era farm house; a newly remodeled
ranch style house; a four-square house trimmed in stone; and a
1908 Queen Anne cottage that was recently placed on the National
Register of Historic Places. Each will be dressed in Christmas
splendor and be full of ideas visitors can use in their own
homes.
The members of Alderson Main Street are excited to be able to
return to this holiday tradition. President Judy Lewallen said,
“Although this homes tour is a lot of hard work for members and
home owners, we love the fact that it showcases the beauty of
our town at the Christmas season.” |
