ALDERSON COUNCIL WELCOMES AMERICORPS WORKER
At the regular November Council Meeting of the Town of Alderson on
Thursday, November 14, AmeriCorps Member Amy Truesdale was warmly
welcomed by all in attendance. Introduced by Alderson Main Street (AMS)
Secretary Doris Kasley, her immediate supervisor, and Treasurer Margaret
Hambrick, and with the support of AMS President and also Alderson
Recorder Betty Thomas, Truesdale immediately got to work helping develop
the schedule of Christmas activities for the weekend of December 6, 7, & 8.
Truesdale has already established an on-line calendar with the assistance of
AMS’s web site manager Barry Worrell. It can be accessed by going to the
AMS web page at
www.min7th.com/ams/
and clicking on the event calendar
icon at the top of the page.
Truesdale’s office is in the Greenbrier River Interpretive Center on Riverview Avenue and she will be in the office
most week-day afternoons. She also plans to visit all the clubs and services organizations in town as she gets to
know about Alderson.
Mayor Travis Copenhaver said, “We are excited to have Amy on board to support the activities of Alderson Main
Street and other folks and organizations who care so much about our town. We know everyone will give her their
cooperation.”
