"Improving the Community - One Project at a Time"

AGENDA
ALDERSON MAIN STREET
August 21, 2008
7:00 p.m. at City Hall

Greetings! Welcome! Did you bring a friend? The new year began in November for Alderson Main Street. Your dues of $15 are due. See Dana Pack to determine if you have already paid. Your dues go into the general fund for projects we support and are an important source of revenue. They entitle you to be a voting member of the organization, attend Chamber of Commerce events, and work hard. What a bargain! Thank you!

Three Cheers!!!
• For everyone who supported the Ice Cream Social! It was a great success!
• For Debbie Garber, Glenna and Charles Mulkey, Tom and Linda Dameron, Dana Pack, and Bobby and Judy Hoover who brought cookies!
• For Tom and Neta Roush, Lee Forbes, and Bobby and Judy Hoover who made ice cream! Yummmmmmm!

For everyone, both near and far, who cares about Alderson

Minutes from last meeting—Judy Hoover, Secretary

Old Business:
1. Treasurer’s report—Dana Pack, Treasurer
2. Greenbrier River Interpretative Center—Vivian Pranulis/M. Hambrick
Got Transportation Enhancement grant for $120,000 on August 11. We have almost all the match to bring the amount to $150,000. Hopefully that will finish it up.
3. Town flag—Should we order more flags? We have about 4 small and 5 large as of this writing. Wolf Creek Gallery and Alderson’s are both selling them. We could order 25 of the 2x3’s with sleeve for $25 each and sell for $30. We could order 12 of the 3x5’s for $44 each and sell for $75. We have not collected all the money from the sales so far. The orders would require an outlay of $1153.
4. Community Meal/Picnic for Fall event????

New Business:
1. New Ideas
2. Set up a table at the Community Center Fall Arts and Crafts Show on September 19 and 20?? Sell flags, cookbooks, and posters. Solicit for memberships. Baked goods????? Use Tom Dameron’s posters and get our name out there?
3. Next Meeting—September 17, 2009; 7:00 p.m. ; City Hall
