WHEREAS the Council
of the Town of Alderson officially adopted a graphic design
that was created to be the Seal of the Town of Alderson at a
Regular Meeting of the Alderson Town Council on February 22,
1973, and
WHEREAS it is the desire of the Council of the Town of
Alderson that the use of said seal, the official graphic
emblem of the Town, be regulated so as to define appropriate
use and control and ensure the consistency, quality, and
application of its likeness, and to protect its character,
dignity, and stature as an emblem representing the Town of
Alderson and its citizens, now, therefore, be it ordained
that:

This image is intended for use on official Town of Alderson
documents, letterhead, forms, and official materials of the
Town of Alderson and its subsidiary departments as may be
appropriate and necessary in the conduct of official business.

This image is intended for use on official Town of Alderson
flags, and on vehicles or signage owned and controlled by the
Town of Alderson and its subsidiary departments as may be
appropriate and necessary in the conduct of official business.
Upon proper written application to Council, non-profit
entities within the Town of Alderson may be permitted to
utilize the seal in either of the above forms on commemorative
items for fund raising purposes or on commemorative items to
be given as gifts, provided that the proceeds are utilized
only to cover the cost of production of such items and any
profit beyond said cost must be utilized for a community
improvement project specified in the application for approval
of use.
Authorization to use the seal on said products must be by a
majority vote of the Town Council at a duly scheduled meeting,
and may be granted only if said written application is
sufficiently clear as to the details, conditions, and use of
the product. Only official art (digital or hard-copy) provided
by the Town of Alderson may be utilized as the guide to
generate the final product. The final art for the product must
be submitted to the Town of Alderson for approval prior to
production of the item.
Electronic versions of the seal may not be used on any web
site or other electronic venue, except official sites owned or
sponsored by the Town of Alderson, without the express written
permission of the Council of the Town of Alderson.
Anyone engaging in unauthorized use of the Official Seal of
the Town of Alderson or any mischaracterization or alteration
of its appearance, or any use made outside the parameters set
forth in this Ordinance may be charged with a misdemeanor,
and, if found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction, may
be fined not to exceed $500 for each offense. Each instance of
unauthorized use (each unauthorized image rendered) shall
constitute a separate offense.
This Ordinance was accepted on its first reading by the
Council of the Town of Alderson on February 12, 2009 on motion
duly made by Ann Eskins and seconded by Darold Allen. It was
adopted on _________________ by the Council of the Town of
