Urban Vs Rural
Rick Hughes 09

I GREW UP IN THE COUNTRY WHERE IT WAS ALWAYS VERY VERY QUIET. USUALLY I WENT TO BED EARLY AND WOKE UP BY 4 OR 5 IN THE MORNING. I ALWAYS LIKED THE EARLY MORNING MIST AND PEACEFUL QUIETNESS OF RURAL LIFE. NOW MAYBE SOMEONE CAN EXPLAIN, BUT IN TODAY'S WORLD I LOVE CITIES. MANY PEOPLE I KNOW AM FROM CITIES AND THEY ALL TEND TO ROMANTIZE COUNTRY EXISTENCE. THEY ARE ALWAYS GOING CAMPING GETTING BACK TO NATURE. URBANS SEE NATURE AS PRISTINE PURE, WHILE I REALIZE NATURE CAN KILL YOU QUICK. A WILD ANIMAL, A RABID GROUND HOG, A COYOTE WITH THE SAME CONDITION. THESE ARE ALL FIGHTING, ATTACKING CREATURES. NOW I KNOW CITIES CAN BE LETHAL BUT I LOVE BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS, LARGE NUMBERS OF PEDESTRIANS, WONDERFUL RESTAURANTS, AND GREAT GRAND HOTELS. MY WIFE AND I ARE DEEP RURAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE BECOME ENCHANTED WITH BIG CITIES.
