John Lonis Dunbar - Obituary

September 3rd, 1949 -October 25th, 2020

John Lonis Dunbar, of Silver Springs, FL, passed away on October 25th, 2020 in his home. John was born in Hinton, West Virginia to Robert Dunbar and Ruby Erskin on September 3rd, 1949. He went to high school at Alderson High School, he graduated in 1967. He worked at Flowers Baking Company for 10 years as a bread delivery man. He enjoyed NASCAR, westerns, playing his banjo, spending time with his family, and collecting novelty frogs.

John is survived by his wife Dawn Dunbar of Silver Springs, FL. He is also survived by his two children John Lonis Dunbar Jr. and Amanda Dawn Dunbar, his siblings, Luke Dunbar, Judith Gilray, and Tresea Wilson, his granddaughter Skyler Dunbar, his nephews Shane Reedy, Robert Gilray Jr, Michael "Mikey" Gilray, Matthew Gilray, and Christopher Wilson, his nieces Stacey Nicholson, Misty Dawn Franzell, Samantha Wilson, and Shannon Wilson. And his favorite sister-in-law, Donna Reedy.

John was a great man, he will be tremendously missed by this family and friends. Thank you to everyone for their contribution to his life and for having his memory live on. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Roberts of Ocala Downtown Chapel for their kindness and compassion.
