Doreen Duff Eskins - Obituary

September 1, 1929 - May 8, 2020

Born on Muddy Creek Mountain September 1, 1929. She went home to be with the lord on May 8, 2020. She was a life long resident of Alderson, WV.

Doreen was preceded in death by her parents Denny and Della Hunter Duff, two sisters, Deloris Meredith, Frances Baker Miller, brothers, Denny, Dana, Denver, Daniel Duff and her husband James Harold Eskins, sister-in-law Betty Daniel and her husband James Daniel.

She is survived by two sons James M. Eskins and wife Donna V. Eskins, H. Mitchell Eskins and wife Theresa Johnson Eskins, three grandchildren Clint Eskins and wife Regina Eskins, Stacy Eskins, Aimee Eskins Gray and husband Chris Gray. Two great grandchildren, Gavin Eskins and Autumn Eskins, one brother-in-law William Eskins and wife Ginny Eskins and brother Donald "Cricket" Duff and wife Barbara and Ann H. Eskins, mother of Clint and Stacy Eskins.

Doreen worked for E & M Grocery, Johnson & Gwinn Hardware, and True Value Hardware retiring at the age of 83.

She loved waiting on people and looked forward to seeing them come in the store.

Doreen was a member of the Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, a member of the Alderson Chapter #119 Order of the Eastern Star, a past member of the United Methodist Women's Circle, a past member of the Moose Lodge in Ronceverte, WV and she also attended the River of Life Church.

Our thanks to all the staff at The Brier for excellent care they provided to Doreen.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, May 11, 2020 at the Fletcher Addition of the Alderson Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of the Lantz Funeral Home in Alderson.
