Mary Jo Huffman Pruett 84, of 342 Wrenn Drive, went to be
with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday October 9, 2012 at Roman
Eagle Memorial Home. Born in Alderson, WV on October 15,
1927 the daughter of the late John Orr Huffman and Cecile
Thurmond Huffman. She was a graduate of Alderson High School
in 1945. Mrs. Pruett retired from Pittsylvania County Public
Schools where she was a Teachers Assistant. She was an
active member of Shelton Memorial Presbyterian Church where
she was a past Sunday School Teacher and Church Historian.
She was married to Robert Thomas Pruett, Sr. who died on
October 11, 1999. |
She
is survived by three sons, Robert T. "Tommy" Pruett, Jr. and wife,
Deborah, of Dry Fork, VA; Ron B. Pruett, and wife, Marissa, of
Ridgeway, VA; John J. Pruett, and wife, Lori, of Spartanburg, SC;
eleven grandchildren, Kristen P. Tatum, Stephanie P. Crumpton,
Joanna Pruett, Elizabeth Pruett, Andrew T. Pruett, Tim Pruett, Amy
Pruett, Mary Pruett, Jonathan Pruett, Christopher Pruett, Kimberly
Pruett. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by two
sisters, Sally Barbara Berkley, Doris Fawcett.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 2:00 P.M.
from Shelton Memorial Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Paul
Johnson. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The
family received friends on Thursday from 7:00 - 8:30 P.M. at the
Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel and at the residence at other times.
The family suggests that in lieu of
flowers that memorial donations be made to the Shelton Memorial
Presbyterian Church Building Fund 738 North Main St Danville, VA
