Lonnie Richard Shires Jr. 81,
of Rupert and formerly of Alderson, died July 13, 2008 in Carilion
Hospital in Roanoke after a short illness. The son of Lonnie
Richard Shires Sr. and Ada Mae Falls Shires he was preceded
in death by his parents and a brother Jackie, and sisters Frances
Phillips, Lucille Trump and Nellie Honaker. He attended Marshall,
taught school on Flat Mountain, and was a retiree from WVDOH.
He is survived by his wife Drema, a daughter and two sons and
numerous grandchildren.
