NEWS RELEASE  Date:  November 7, 2017 For Immediate Release           Contact:  Margaret Hambrick or Toni Ogden     304-646-2439               304-645-3398 GHS Presents a Stellar Evening The   Greenbrier   Historical   Society   will   begin   the   local   holiday   season   with   its   annual   fundraiser   “A   Stellar   Evening”.   This year’s   event   will   be   held   in   the   new   Student   Center   on   the   WVSOM   campus   at   7   p.m   on   Saturday,   December   2   and include   an   hour   to   mingle   with   drinks   and   hors   d’oeuvres.   For   dinner,   guests   will   choose   from   an   array   of   enticing   buffet dishes.   The   musical   stylings   of   the   popular   Trio   Grande,   who   got   their   start   as   a   musical   group   at   The   Greenbrier,   will have you dancing the night away. This   year’s   Silent Auction   has   an   exceptional   variety   of   very   special   items.      Romney   Collins   and   Lee   Street   Studios   have provided   an   original   oil   painting   of   the   North   House   Museum.      Collins   started   her   art   career   at   the   tender   age   of   7   when she   attended   a   summer   art   school   in   a   converted   railroad   depot   in   Fairfax,   VA.      When   she   came   to   the   Lewisburg   area, she   studied   with   Robert   and   June   Anderson   and   also   Daniel   Green   of   the   Oil   Painters   Society   of   America.      She   likes   to work   from   real   life   and   sketched   this   painting   of   the   North   House   while   there   and   finished   it   in   her   studio.      She   will   be teaching   classes   in   oil   painting   in   the   spring   and   summer   of   2018   in   Studio   6   of   the   Lee   Street   Studios.      Also   in   the   art category are a framed print of the Reverend Sam Black and a numbered print of “Lewisburg, VA” by Edward Beyer. For   “foodies,”   an   all-inclusive   dinner   in   a   circa   1795   house   and   one   at   the   Old   Victorian   Inn   B&B   will   be   offered.      These dinners   for   8   are   exceptional   opportunities   to   share   private   venues   and   delicious   food   with   friends.     Another   offering   will   be an exclusive wine package.
