In conjunction with a new arts
festival to be held in Alderson on October 6, 2012, I will be
collecting stories and photographs of the Alderson Indians at City
National Bank in Alderson on the first three Fridays of September.
Community members who have tales to tell of Coach A. A. McLaughlin,
cheerleaders, the Nine Girls Club, the marching band, fans, and any
other aspect related to Alderson High School football are requested
to come to the bank on either Friday September 7, 14, or 21 with
pictures and tales to tell. Photographs will be scanned and
immediately returned to their owners. Of particular interest are
the early years of Coach Abe’s career at Alderson, 1936 – 1940.
