BITS OF THIS AND THAT: May Queen—Dorothy Conner Russell. Elmer Nowlan, Jr., was selected as end on the 1929 All-West Virginia High School Football Team. Eight members of the class of l93O were on the first string of the football team and Elmer Nowlan and James Russell were the greatest passing combination in the history of the school. Russell passed to Nowlan. That was the year, also, that the football team was rated the 4th best in the State. Congratulations! Class of l930—Marjoria Rigg Crawford, Chairman.
