The year
was 1960 and Linda and I were married in June and later in
December, spending our first Christmas together. With a
weekly paycheck of $47 dollars and change, there wasn't much
to go for Christmas decorations. We did manage some lights
and ornaments and one little ornaments with two elves on the
inside of it. This was to represent the two of us.
Definitely an "Ahhhhhh" moment.
Over the
years the ornaments got broken (the first one and probably
all of them by me) but the elves always managed to survive,
so we just glue them to another Christmas ornament.
For 55
years our two little friends have been with us, making their
appearance only at Christmas time, and very often attached
to a different dwelling. |
