Computer Woes?
Barry Worrell  February 3, 2010

Do you have computer problems? Viruses, spyware, and slow running computers? Sound like a TV commercial, yes?  I'm not a expert, but I have  experienced all of the problems I listed.

I would like to recommend three products that will keep your PC safe and running as fast as it is supposed to. Best thing is, they are all free products. Something to consider in today economy.

Anti-Virus

Viruses can infect your PC from websites that you have visited and from emails. Viruses can cause your PC to run slow or malfunction. If you're paying for an anti-virus program, then you're wasting your money. Norton and McAfee can cost from $40.00 to $80.00 a year for their software and I've used both.

"Avast" is the anti-virus I've used for several years and I have installed it on the PCs of family and friends. (They are still my friends.) Avast can also remove a lot of spyware. It protects email, internet, instant messages, outlook/exchange, network, p2p, and web shields.
Here's where you can get it,  Avast

Malicious Software

"Malwarebytes" defends against spyware, trojans and any other malicious software that is designed to malfunction or destroy your PC.
Here's where you can get it. Malwarebytes

Registry Cleaners

"Ccleaner" is a registry cleaner. The computer's registry stores the information that tells your PC where, and what settings are required for the programs you want to use. Word, email, etc. As in most things that man can build, it get full of junk and slows things down. Ccleaner cleans that registry.
Here's where you can get it, Ccleaner

If you don't have any of these problems, you probably have protection. A lot of internet providers supply anti-viruses and malware software as a service, but you could be paying extra for it. I doubt if they have registry cleaning, and that's one of the most common issues that slows you PC.  Check with your provider.

If you have an interest in, or any questions about these programs, just email, or put your question in the comment space below, and I'll try to help you.

If you have any software to recommend, you may add it in the comments section below.
