Jack Fleming was the broadcast announcer for the W.Va.
Mountaineers (both basketball and football) for 41 years!!
(1947-1959, 1962-1969, and 1974-1996.) Born in Morgantown in
1924, ('23 ?), and died, I believe, in 2001.
Two things most folks did not know about Jack. 1. His name
was Leo W. Fleming, and 2. In WW 2 he was a navigator, (B-17?)
and flew 23 combat missions. Jack began his radio career while
recuperating at Ashford General Hospital, (Greenbrier Hotel.)
